SOPHIE SCHOUKENS (Director)
Sophie Schoukens trained as an art historian and holds masters degrees in both communication sciences and film. She is a graduate of Eave, Binger, Arista and Moonstone. She started her career as a stage actress in New York where she also attended Frank Daniel’s scriptwriting classes at Columbia. On her return to Europe, she became a film producer and made several award-winning international co-productions (see www.sophimages.be
She worked for five years at the European Commission’s MEDIA Programme, becoming its head of development. In 2008 she left the MEDIA Programme to realize her dream and direct movies.
Alice or life in black and white is her first film as a director. The short film was selected for the 2008 Berlinale and, since then, has been invited to over 120 international festivals and won a dozen international prizes.
Marieke Marieke is her first feature film.
Currently she is developing several new feature and documentary projects.

Worked as DOP on many documentaries and fiction films among others: Mobutu, Roi du Zaïre by Thierry Michel and on the Dardenne brothers' LA PROMESSE, ROSETTA(Palme d'Or), LE FILS, l'ENFANT(Palme d'Or) and le SILENCE DE LORNA.
JEFF MERCELIS (composer) Finalist in the 1992 edition of Rock Rally, Jef has been composing for numerous theatre and dance performances and film soundtracks.His records The Hopes and Dreams of a Drunk Punk and WESTERN UNION show his qualities as an exciting, personal and intense singer-songwriter.

ASTRID POESCHKE (decor)Trained as an architect, she worked on many movies as assistant art director.Recently she realized the art direction of the COUNTESS by Julie Delpy.
PETER WODITSCH (editing) Directed and edited a.o.The lost Secret of Catherine the Great, Secret Museums, Forbidden treasures and to be or not to be. Ha also works as an independent filmmaker in fiction and documentary.
